Since graduating from the London Film School and then the Department of Education, University of Oxford, I have dedicated my career to Film and Media Education.

During that time I have been book author, conference speaker, teacher, mentor, workshop leader, university lecturer, consultant and recent Professor of Film.

For example, I have taught full and part-time in the UK, the EU, South Africa, while collaborations have included Film Haus Frankfurt/Main, Cinemasports USA, the South African Council of Higher Education, and of course, CILECT.

Alumnus

Altogether, I am a graduate of Keele University (UK), and post-graduate of the London (International) Film School, the Institute of Education – UCL, and the Department of Education – University of Oxford.

I gained my Dr. phil in Filmwissenschaft (Film Sciences) at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany

Recent Publications

I have been 2012- 2019 project leader, co-editor, and contributor to The 21st Century Film, TV and Media School Book Project (p. 799 ) from CILECT – The International Association of Film and Television Schools. During that time we have published two Volumes each comprising chapters from practising lecturers across the CILECT network.
